About Me

Hi, I’m Luna! The girl behind the Simplified Bride.

I planned my own wedding, and you can too!

My Story

I am a middle school teacher from Florida who has always had a love for planning, organization, and design.

After getting engaged, I discovered my passion for wedding planning and put all of my creativity and skills to use in planning my own boho-inspired wedding in the beautiful Florida Keys. Through my own experience, I’ve learned a lot of helpful tips and tricks that I would love to share with other brides-to-be.

When I read that 70% of couples do not hire a wedding planner, I felt motivated to start this blog to share my journey and help others with theirs. The Simplified Bride is centered around sharing relatable experiences, honest opinions, and practical advice to help couples feel confident in their wedding planning process.

More about me

I LOVE decorating my space. One of the main compliments I get from my students is that my classroom has the best “aesthetic” – their words not mine.

I’d happily spend a day off reorganizing some aspect of my home. (My husband hates it because he can never find anything. he also says we have “too many baskets” – like that’s a thing.)

I am a type-A perfectionist. Seriously. I agonize over everything I do, making this whole blogging thing pretty hard.

I’m a HORRIBLE decision maker (kind of ties back to being a perfectionist). In wedding planning, you have to make about 10000 decisions. Imagine my stress.

I avoid target trips because If I step foot inside, I will walk out $300 poorer.

I’ve fallen head-over-heels in love with the wedding world.

There are a lot of opinions surrounding weddings. Here’s what I believe…

  • Yes, wedding planning can be stressful, but is should be fun too!
  • Just because something is a tradition, doesn’t mean you have to do it.
  • You shouldn’t go into dept over your wedding.
  • Don’t sweat the little things.
  • Splurge on your photographer. You won’t regret it.
  • If it’s not a priority, don’t spend time or money on it.
  • Something WILL go wrong on your wedding day. Try to just laugh it off.
  • Soak up every bit of your day. It will be over before you know it.
  • Your wedding is YOUR day and you can do whatever the heck you want with it!!

If any of these resonated with you, Hi! I think we are going to be new BFF’s.
